Highlights of the Teaser for Rebel 3199: Be Forever Yamato: Anime Invincible New Foe

A brand-new teaser trailer for the project's first movie, "Kuro no Shinryaku" (Dark Invasion), went live on the official website for Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199), the next project in the Space Battleship Yamato remakes, on Thursday. The trailer for "Grand Rebirth" (Note: Romanization is not official) shows off an enigmatic big object that is speeding toward Earth and a frightening message telling the now-disassembled Yamato crew to get back together.

Starting on July 19, the first film of the anime series, "Kuro no Shinryaku" (Dark Invasion), will be released in seven parts.

The new cast members joining the new films include:

Naomichi Yamato (From the New WorldMobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans episode director) is directing the new anime, with Harutoshi Fukui now also credited as supervising director along with his roles as head writer and scriptwriter as in previous anime in the series. Hideki Oka is also returning as co-writer on the script. Nobuteru Yuki is returning as character designer. Junichirō TamamoriMika Akitaka, and Yasushi Ishizu are credited for mechanical designs.

Hiroyuki Goto is the CG producer, while Shōsuke Uechi is credited as CG director. Tomohiro Yoshida is the sound director

Similar to previous anime in the series, the original work is credited to the late producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki, while his son Shōji Nishizaki is recognized as chief production supervisor and chief supervisor of copyright. Together with Shu Kanematsu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses), Akira Miyagawa will be back to compose the music. Hiroshi Miyagawa, the original Space Battleship Yamato composer and father of Akira Miyagawa, is also given credit for the soundtrack.

At an earlier speaking event, Fukui said, "Of course, Garman Garmillas will appear" in the upcoming anime. This was a reference to the Garmillas residual empire that was featured in Final Yamato and Space Battleship Yamato III (UchŖ Senkan Yamato 3). Additionally, he affirmed that there will be 26 episodes in the project. Despite the title of the movie, Fukui later revealed that the tale will begin in the year 2207. The plot won't "immediately warp" to 3199, he made clear.

The new project is a follow-up to Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage Part II: Stasha (Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi - Kōshō -STASHA-), which debuted in February 2022.

Yamato yo Towa ni (Be Forever Yamato) is also the title of the 1980 sequel to the original Yamato anime projects. The 1980 film's story is not set in the year 3199, but the 2004 original video anime series Dai Yamato Zero-go's story is set in that year.
